Whether it’s the Italian countryside, the rice terraces of Bali, or the Adelaide Hills catching morning light, I photograph places the way I approach ingredients – with curiosity about their character and environment. These images capture sense of place: the texture of weathered stone walls in the Province of Trento villages, the way light falls through a Contra Alba window, the red Vespa with its single rose waiting in a Bologna alley, the lush greens of Balinese landscapes, the changing seasons in our own backyard. Travel photography teaches me to see familiar spaces with fresh eyes when I return home.
